• Must possess a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
in Early Childhood Education/Child Development from an accredited
college or university AND at least 30 semester hours of coursework
in Early Childhood Education.
• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood
Education from an accredited college or university AND an Illinois
type 4 teaching certificate. (Head State Pre-K Teacher only).
• Prior teaching experience and/or experience
in group childcare preferred.
• Ability to establish a respectful and trustworthy
relationship with children in multicultural setting.

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Sponsored by the Daughters of Charity, both St. Vincent de Paul
and Marillac Social Centers provide programs and services in
the areas of child care, social services, outreach services to
the homeless, and services for the elderly.
Marillac Social Center has been serving the needs of the working
poor in Chicago’s west side community since 1914. Marillac Social
Center is currently searching for an exceptional Assistant/Associate
Director of Development who believes in the mission of the Daughters
of Charity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify, rate, maintain and track a portfolio
of individuals who have the capacity to support MSC with substantial
gifts.
• Cultivate donors to expand donor prospect
list.
• Plan and manage fundraising special events
and establish new special event fundraisers to increase both
revenue and exposure for Marillac Social Center.
• Work with Development Board to execute annual
fundraising events.
• Assist in the identification, evaluation
and the research on major gift prospects.
• Coordinate and maintain donor recognition
and stewardship activities, including communications, and special
events.
• Introduce Marillac programs to members of
the community through presentations, tours, and meetings.
• Serve as primary liaison to the Development
Board.
• Work with Director of Institutional Advancement
and Director of Annual Giving to establish annual fundraising
goals, annual appeal initiatives, MSC stewardship and acknowledgement
letters and coordinate phone-a-thon.
• Work with Corporate and Foundation Relations
Coordinator to present MSC funding priorities to potential corporate
and foundation funders.
• Create and produce public relations and marketing
materials including brochures, a press packet, press releases,
and MSC website.
• Acts with integrity and aspires to model
the core values of DCMC in the delivery of all services.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications
or a related field
• At least 5 years of successful professional
development and/or fundraising experience in a not-for-profit
environment
• Excellent verbal and written skills required
to convey the mission to diverse groups
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Quark
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
while setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability
• Ability to think strategically, take initiative
and execute
• Some evening and weekend work required
